Oshkosh Public Library

Mike is required by his federal employer to stay home during Covid so we had to adjust our hours. I think that after he comes back to work, we will keep Mondays as our long day. We are extremely busy every Monday so that tells us it’s a good day to be open morning until evening!

Here are our newest hours:

Open Mondays 10 am until 6 pm

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1 pm to 5:30 pm

Friday – Closed until Mike is able to come back to work. When he gets back, we will be open on Fridays, 1-5:30.

Sound okay?

The only things that are different for us during Covid are that we sanitize often, ask people to stand at least 6 feet apart, the kids’ section is closed but we do have kids’ books on carts that they can check out. Also, none of the libraries that we normally inter-library-loan from are loaning books by mail. So we can’t borrow books from other libraries for you.

After talking to the governor’s office, the Nebraska Library Commission and other area libraries, we have decided to reopen on May 18th, if there are still no Covid cases in Garden County.

Only 6 people will be allowed in the library at one time, they must keep 6 feet away from other people, and all books & DVDs will be quarantined for 3 days after they are returned.

We thank you for your patience and appreciate your understanding of the new rules that may stay in effect for a long time.
